Ingredients for the Skinny Margarita Recipe

Just because it’s a skinny drink doesn’t mean you can scrimp on the ingredients. So, get shopping, or gathering if you live on a citrus farm!

  • Freshly squeezed lime juice from 1 ½ small limes
  • Freshly squeezed orange juice from ½ an orange
  • 1 lime wedge for garnish
  • A teaspoon of light agave nectar
  • Sea salt, coarsely ground
  • And, of course, ¼ cup of Olmeca Tequila Silver



How to Make a Skinny Margarita Cocktail

Making a Skinny Margarita is really easy. You can burn even more calories if you prepare the drink while dancing!

  1. Pour salt onto a plate (ideally one slightly larger than the rim of your cocktail glass).
  2. Slice a piece of lime and, with the wet edge, run it along the rim.
  3. Dip the top of the glass into the salt so it’s evenly coated.
  4. Add ice cubes to the glass and place it to one side.
  5. Now, fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the tequila, the freshly squeezed lime and orange juices, and the agave nectar.
  6. Pop on the lid and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain the liquid into your glass and top it off with a slice of lime as garnish.
  7. Sip your margarita with a clear conscience that you aren’t overdoing the calories.
